We don't necessarily eat to only satisfy physical hunger. Many turn to food for comfort, stress relief, to fill a void or to reward themselves. It’s funny… In my head I always made dieting such a difficult thing. OMG, the horror of depriving myself, the restriction, how can I possibly endure such a thing? Every time I started a diet I would stop soon after thanking my lucky stars that I got out unscathed. Lori, my diet coach, taught me how my thought process was essentially getting in the way of my weight loss efforts. Day by day I got stronger in my resolve and my willpower was suddenly unwavering. I will be forever grateful for her help and for her patience with me as I am sure I tested her along the way. I guess I was my own worst enemy. Glad I was able to switch from defense to offense.
I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MY LIFE
My weight just sort of creeped up on me 5-10 lbs at a time, and before I knew it, I was a whopping 350 pounds! My life became less enjoyable, and I became depressed and withdrawn. The more I gained, the more embarrassing it was to leave the house. I got so out of breath by just walking to the car, I decided it was just best to stay inside. The weight affected my work, my relationships and most of all me, and I could cry when I think of the situation I was in. My supportive, loving husband approached me about his concern about my weight. I then decided it was time for a change! My coach was beyond helpful to me. I FEEL OUT OF CONTROL WITH FOOD
I lost 65 lbs with Lori, but not 1 pound of it came off until I dealt with the underlying cause of my overeating. I was an emotional eater – usually when I was sad or lonely the appetite would kick in. I remember once I bought a dozen donuts for my son’s soccer team, and on the drive over, I ate the entire box! Clearly I had a problem. Life coaching and diet coaching was really the missing link in all my previous dieting efforts. It allowed me to face my life head on. I was constantly trying to numb myself with food so I didn’t have to feel the pain. It was my escape, my drug. My food addiction is no longer an issue, and I have learned so much over the last few months. Thanks Lori for helping me be stronger, leaner, and wiser.
I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT DEPRIVATION
Food is love for me, and I am enamored with it. I think about it all of the time. I turned my love for food into a career. As a chef, I love cooking, but most of all eating. Coming up with new recipes, creating a medley of textures and flavors, is my passion. Not surprisingly, losing weight has never been easy for me. I only see diet plans as bland and restrictive, and as soon as I feel deprived, I give up on the diet. I have a long dieting history, and even if I am successful I find myself backtracking and regaining the weight again after losing. Lori taught me how I can still enjoy eating and cooking delicious food while losing the weight. I no longer feel that dieting = deprivation.
I DON’T LIKE HOW I LOOK ANYMORE
When I was in high school I was hot. I had the body I can now only dream about. 2 kids and 2 divorces later, I don’t even recognize myself in the mirror. I hated my body and therefore myself. Instead of turning heads, I was always the fat one in the room trying to figure out how to camouflage my bumps and bulges. My lowest moment was when I was too embarrassed by my weight to go to my high school reunion. That was the last straw! I wasn’t going to miss out on life’s moments anymore. You can have as many or as few coaching sessions as you’d like. Because I offer virtual coaching, the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once a month, some people have a session once a week. It is entirely up to you to decide. There are savings plans available if needed. This depends on many factors: your size to start with, your individual lifestyle, weight history, metabolism, stress level, toxin level, and how ready you are to make changes. It’s important to focus on how you feel when you change your diet. My clients typically feel more energetic, have increased mental clarity, focus, memory, less cravings, and are more satisfied. Blood sugar levels balance out (many reverse diabetes), Blood pressure decreases, Inflammation decreases, and the body detoxes, etc.
